The wine tasting was excellent! The wines were marvellous, and the charcuterie platter served alongside them was delicious, generously laid out with sausages, cheeses, bread and fresh grapes. We loved being able to take the tour and the tasting at our own pace. Unlike the rushed, guided tours we’re used to at big brands, here we were able to enjoy every moment without any pressure. We felt very welcome from start to finish.

The house was amazing—even better than in the photos. Very clean, modern and with everything we needed. The four bedrooms were more than enough for the five of us to spread out and have our own privacy. What’s more, the outdoor area is great for enjoying a glass of wine and taking in the wonderful scenery. We would have loved to stay another night and take part in a wine tasting with them, but we simply didn’t have the time. Albertina was incredibly helpful and lovely. We hope to return soon.

Yes. The entire tasting takes place on the estate, in Gominhães: the tour of the vineyard, the entrance to the winery where the wine is vinified and the commented tasting. There is no tasting outside the property.

Is it necessary to book a wine tasting?
Yes, prior booking is mandatory. The request is made in the form on this page and the family confirms it by email, usually in a few minutes or a few hours and up to a maximum of 24 hours. It is not possible to book a wine tasting for the same day through the website — in that case, contact us by phone or WhatsApp.
How much does a Vinho Verde tasting cost?
Wine tastings cost from €30 to €45 per person, depending on the wines presented. Each option is described at the top of this page, with everything it includes. For groups and agencies there is a specific option, with a price on request.
How long does the wine tasting last?
About an hour and a half, in any of the three options. This time includes the tour of the vineyard, the visit to the winery and the tasting with accompaniment. The option for groups and agencies has flexible hours.
Which wines are included in the tastings?
Three wines in each wine tasting, all produced and bottled on the estate. Depending on the option, the Arinto, the Loureiro and the Blend, and in the most complete options the two Reserve — Alvarinho Reserva e Arinto Reserva. The wine list for each option is on the cards at the top of the page.
Does the wine tasting include a visit to the vineyard and the winery?
Yes, both. All options include the tour of the vineyard and the visit to the winery, where the wines are produced. It is the family itself that guides the visit and presents each wine.
What is served during the wine tasting?
In addition to the wines, a board of cheeses, sausages and bread. The estate does not have a restaurant. In the option for groups and agencies, it is possible to add more accompaniments.
Is it possible to do a private wine tasting?
Yes — all wine tastings are private. We do not bring together different groups on the same visit, so each hour of the day accepts a single reservation.
Does Quinta Picouto de Cima receive groups and travel agencies?
Yes. There is a specific option for agencies and guides, with flexible hours and the possibility of adding more accompaniments. The route is the same as the other wine tastings: walk through the vineyards to the winery, with the presentation of the wines on the way back. Ask for a quote using the form on this page.
Can I combine the wine tasting with a stay at the estate?
Yes. The estate has a Country house among the vineyards, and the wine tasting can be scheduled for one of the days of the stay. The two reservations are made separately: the stay on the accommodation page and the wine tasting on this page.
